Peachtree City RCC and DG Gordon Visit Fire Station

The Rotary Community Corps of Peachtree City had an incredible experience at Fire Station 81! They learned about the intense 16-week training required to become a firefighter and got up close with some of the essential tools used on the job. One of the firemen even suited up in under one minute, demonstrating just how quickly they need to respond to emergencies!

The group explored the fire trucks and an ambulance, discovering the 60 lbs of gear that firefighters wear, and heard the unique sound of an oxygen tank, mimicking how a firefighter would sound during a rescue. A truly special moment came when one of our members, who is blind, was able to touch and feel the gear—an unforgettable experience!

We were honored to have District Governor Gordon Owens and his wife Ashley join us, along with several Peachtree City Rotarians, making the evening even more memorable. Thank you to our brave firefighters for showing us what it takes to keep our community safe!
