Let's Talk Turkey (and Books)!

And just like that it’s November. So, let’s talk turkeys ... and books for Kingsley Elementary.

Everything You Need to Know about Harvest Baskets for Kingsley Elementary Students

The Rotary Club of Dunwoody is part of a community effort to provide Thanksgiving baskets for Kingsley Elementary School families in need. As a club, we buy the turkeys AND provide some people-power to make this happen.

  • Publix has not yet given me the price per pound for the turkeys so I have not ordered them yet. As soon as I do, we will set a date for a few Rotarians to meet at the Publix on Chamblee Dunwoody Rd and we will line up and pay individually for the turkeys (for those of you experiencing your first Harvest Basket season with Dunwoody, there's a per person turkey limit, thus the need for the Turkey Relay).  I’m expecting this to happen fairly soon, but I will be sure to let you know.
  • We need one or two people at Kingsley to help sort food on Tuesday, November 17 at 3:00pm.
  • The Kingsley PTO has volunteered to help hand out the boxes on Thursday, November 19. They will take the shifts from 9AM-12Noon and then again from 4PM to 6PM. So, we need two Rotary volunteers from 12Noon until 2PM and then two more from 2PM until 4PM.

I will be at the school on Tuesday and the again on Thursday. Any questions please send me a message at 770-235-9981. This is a wonderful thing we are doing for many Kingsley families.

A BOOK FOR EVERY CHILD

The books have been ordered and are at the school. On a Tuesday in December we will meet in the Kingsley Media Center to label the books. Then very close to the last day of school in December we will meet again to distribute the books. I will have more detailed information to share with you after December 1.

Many thanks for all your support. None of these very special projects would even happen without your support and I appreciate each and every one of you.
