We have another service opportunity on Saturday, October 3, to join forces with Bagel Rescue to help out the Dunwoody community. In April 2026, we heard about Bagel Rescue, a nonprofit founded by Erin Steiglitz. Erin shared how Bagel Rescue collects unsold bagels from local businesses and delivers them to distribution centers so families in need can use them. Since then, Erin and I have been looking for a way to serve together.
On Saturday, October 3, at 10:00 AM, Bagel Rescue will deliver a large load of bagels to Room 8 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church (4755 North Peachtree Road, Dunwoody). Our job is simple: pack the bagels into family-size bags of about one dozen each. Bagel Rescue will then deliver the bags to local distribution centers.
We need exactly 20 volunteers, and the project will take no more than two hours. This was originally planned as an Interact project. I made special arrangements with Bagel Rescue and St. Patrick’s to accommodate high school students, but too few students were able to commit. We are now pivoting this into a Rotary service project.
