Be Sure To Vote by December 4!
Proposed Change to Dues Categories for Remainder of Rotary Year

On Monday, November 23, President Ardy sent an email to all club members about a proposed change in our dues structure. If we receive the required approval by the membership, the change would add a Pandemic Dues Base Rate for all non-rule of 85 members - retroactively to October 1, 2020 and running forward until June 30, 2021, the end of this Rotary year. The Board has approved the change; now we need your vote by December 4.

Here's how the new category would work:

  • Non-rule of 85 members who believe they will attend by Zoom or in person without having breakfast can select the Pandemic Dues Base Rate and would pay a base rate of $150/quarter. On occasions where they do eat breakfast, they would be billed an additional $20 (our food cost) per breakfast. We will have a list for members to report each week when they eat breakfast.
  • Members who do not select the Pandemic Dues Base Rate would pay a normal dues base rate of $285/quarter that includes meal cost for all the weeks we plan to meet live during the quarter.
  • A member would select a dues rate the start of the quarter and could be changed at the start of future quarters – for example, you could select in January and make a change in April.
  • This rate is only for the dues portion of the billing, and does not impact any additions like GRSP, Governor’s Ball etc. Those would continue to be added as needed.

We are proposing this change because we believe it addresses the need to be flexible during the pandemic with respect to your voiced concerns about attending meetings in person or unmasking while at the meeting in order to eat. We believe this solution to be fair to all concerned.

Please let us know if you approve this addition of a new rate by returning a YES vote to Rick Otness at otness_r@mindspring.com and Jennifer Bowler at jbowler325@gmail.com by December 4.  Once the votes are tabulated, we will announce the results and next steps.

If you have any questions, please contact President Ardy.
