December 5, 2022 Neill Blake Programs Director NAMI

Neill Blake retired as Manager of Strategic Planning and Marketing for the Wood Products Division of International Paper and is currently the Programs Director for NAMI – Cobb County. She is a past NAMI Cobb president and has served in leadership positions with NAMI Cobb for 10 years. NAMI, the National Alliance on mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization providing education, support programs and advocacy for mental health.

Neill has received both NAMI Georgia’s Volunteer of the Year and the NAMI Georgia Hall of Fame award, presented for her work in growing the NAMI Cobb affiliate, leading NAMI Signature Programs, training teachers and fundraising. She has been active in reaching out to community leaders and those in various faith communities to promote awareness, decrease stigma and increase support and spiritual care when mental illness is the issue. She serves as the advocate host in providing mental health crisis training for law enforcement agencies in Cobb County.

One of her greatest joys is in teaching the NAMI Family-to-Family class for families who have a loved one with a mental health condition. She has been teaching the class and training future teachers for over ten years and has received the NAMI Georgia Teacher of the Year award twice.
