"Thirsty Thursday" is Catching On...

This past Thursday, we had a record 27 Rotarians and friends attend our latest Thirsty Thursday. People started showing up around 5:30 with many staying until 7 PM. Thirsty Thursday is a regular event that happens on the third Thursday of each month. It is held on the porch at Marlowe's Tavern in Dunwoody. Club members along with their spouse and friends get together to socialize and catch up on what is happening in each other's lives.

In December, we actually helped raise money for the Dunwoody Police Foundation by moving our event to The Duke, where the owner donated 20% of the evening's total proceeds for the night in honor of celebrity bartender, retiring Dunwoody Mayor Denis Shortal. Thanks to Rotarians and other patrons, The Duke donated $1,500.

When is our next Thirsty Thursday event? It will be on February 20. Watch for more details in your February bulletins. And - if you want first hand details about a typical Thirsty Thursday, ask any of these folks who all attended last week's event … Ron & Louise S. Barden, Fred & Kathleen Brandt, Cathie & Ritchie Brumfield, Patti Bunker, Jackie Cuthbert, Roy & Franci Ethridge, Bob Freeman, Jim & Janet Glass, David Gordon, Bill Kelly, John Mills & his son Jack, Richard Otness, Cecil Pacetti, Tina Philpot. Russell Reams and Jessica, Erich Schuetz, George & Amy Stewart, Rick Woods and Bill Woulfin.
