Jennie has been a member of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody for about 30 years. In her membership talk Friday, she said "I joined Rotary for business; I stayed because I found a group of community-focused individuals who put their money, the time, and their focus into doing good work for others. I found that Rotarians can be counted on to step up and make things happen - even when life is difficult."

In 2009, Jennie started her current career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones, after a 23-year management career in the staffing industry and five years with United Way. Her goal is to untangle and simplify money matters for her clients before and during retirement. Many of her clients are busy (careers, family, health issues) and need objective support of their financial plans. Jennie's role is to help them set goals and stay on track to reach the future they envision.

She works with a select group of clients who are interested and serious about planning for their future and living in retirement comfortably, and have the funds to do so; providing additional support for women in a warm and caring professional environment.

Jennie earned a bachelor's degree in management from Louisiana State University. She earned her CFP® certification, and currently teach fundamentals of financial
planning as an adjunct instructor at the University of Georgia in their evening Professional Planner program. She also earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation. Study topics include principles of retirement planning, sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored plans, deferred compensation plans, plan
distributions, investment strategies during retirement and planning for incapacity, disability and long-term care.

Jennie and her husband Mike have two grown children and have lived in the Murphey Candler neighborhood of Atlanta since 1988.

In addition to serving in several roles in Rotary - from RCD President to Assistant Governor to Chair of the DeKalb Rotary Council (oh and did we mention chair of the Governor's Ball) - Jennie is an active volunteer in her church and in the community. And she's a tennis player, too.
