Reconnecting Our Roots Community Garden

Within the city limits of Marietta, a group of individuals have joined together to create an urban garden for their neighborhood. There are about 50 garden plots growing vegetables and flowers which are enjoyed by the plot renters and their friends and neighbors. Some residents nearby live in high rises and don't have access to yards so they are using this space to grow nutritious food to share. The garden is a gathering place and is used for educational classes by the Master Gardeners, serves as a location for community events and welcomes everyone to enjoy the beauty and bounty of this location. Our club is providing three picnic tables to replace dilapidated ones, and we are also providing yard equipment (lawn mower, trimmer and blower) to help keep the garden beautiful. The Rotary emblem and our club name will be prominently displayed on the tables and equipment to further spread Rotary's reputation as a community partner.
