"Imagine" What We Can Do Together This Year!

By George Granade

What an exciting time to be a Rotarian in this 2022-2023 Rotary year!!! We have our first female RI president, Jennifer Jones, Rotaract is a now a special type of Rotary membership and we are very, very close to eradicating Polio with only a few cases this calendar year. With this year’s Rotary theme being “Imagine Rotary,” we can accomplish so many different things. All we must do is “Imagine” it and work toward accomplishing the goal!

I see four major goals for our district this year - related to membership, learning, youth and The Rotary Foundation. And we must have a good time as we do our work. [more]

An Update on Our Giving for Ukraine

By Mary Ligon

What an impact our district is having in the Ukraine!  We have received $154,490 In donations from clubs and individuals in our district. We have transferred $36,500 In cash to Rotary District 2241 for them to use as needed. Last month we shared the report from Buckhead Rotarian Radu Zernoveanu about the aid we have provided to that district. In addition to funds forwarded, we have used your donations to purchase and send $121,975 of specifically requested medical equipment - orthopedic surgical drill and saw sets, negative pressure wound care systems, infant incubators.

Stone Mountain Rotarian Chris Brand has coordinated volunteers from the Rotary Clubs of Buckhead, Decatur, Midtown Atlanta, Roswell, Stone Mountain, and Tucker in sorting and packing items for shipment at FODAC.

GRSP Update

Meet the GRSP Class of 22-23 at August Conclave

By Jackie Cuthbert

All Rotarians, host families, GRSP Leadership, Trustees, Staff, Emeritus members, former Trustees, friends of GRSP and alumni are invited to attend the 2022-23 GRSP Conclave at Lake Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge Conference Center. Conclave takes place August 19-21, 2022 - and provides a great opportunity to meet our new class of students, enjoy fellowship with students and Rotarians, learn more about the coming GRSP year, and attend the annual student cabaret. Lake Lanier Island also offers many opportunities for a ‘family getaway” ranging from water slides, golf, boating and ore during free time at the Conclave. This year, the Rotary Clubs of Forsyth, Gainesville, Hall County, Lanier-Forsyth, South Forsyth and South Hall - all part of District 6910 - will host the Conclave

Lake Spivey/Clayton County and Atlanta Crescent Clubs Partner to Help Good Shepherd

By Claudia Mertl

The Good Shepherd Clinic received a grant from Rotary International through the Rotary Club of Lake Spivey/Clayton County. The grant was for the purchase and distribution of medical and other supplies. This grant purchased a centrifuge, an otoscope and an ophthalmoscope.

Rotarians from the Atlanta Southern Crescent Rotary Club and Lake Spivey/Clayton County volunteered to work at the Good Shepherd Clinic. We were able to help with the Health Fair and with Market Days. We cleaned prescription pill bottles, and worked at the front desk, did some filing and answered phone calls. [more]

Roswell in the Community

By Becky Nelson

The Roswell Rotary Club had two great community service days recently. We started the new year under President John Carruth's leadership supporting Friends of Roswell Police at the 2nd annual Cops N Cars Car Show. Can you say FUN? And in late May, we once again welcomed the community to the annual "Roswell Remembers" Memorial Day event.
