Rotary Club of Dunwoody makes an impact with our Tapestri backpack
project!
Tapestri creates opportunities for immigrant & refugee survivors of violence through education, community organizing, direct
services, & advocacy to help them reclaim ownership over their lives.
Thanks to the Dunwoody Country Club for hosting us as we got
together to stuff dozens of backpacks full of needed school supplies. High concentration was required as each
backpack was tagged with a specific list of items needed for its new owner. Extensive preparation was needed to order, organize, and create the list of items needed by each child. Then, off to bag and tag it for delivery
handled by the dedicated Tapestri team.
As they say, many hands make light work. We were thrilled to have a huge turnout of Dunwoody Rotarians, local Dunwoody High School football players (for the heavy lifting!), and friends. This project was an improved by the addition of the Dunwoody High School football players, Rotoractors, families of Rotarians, our Rotary Youth Exchange student and his host family.
