This Week's Speaker
Rebekah Lignugaris, Organized for Health

Rebekah Lignugaris is a professional organizer who helps people feel better by calming their chaos. She created Organized for Health in 2015 and focuses on residential organizing and move management services. The foundation of her business rests on her love of organization, managing her family of five, a penchant for a healthy lifestyle, project management experience, and effectively using her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

Rebekah is an active member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals and has served on the NAPO Georgia chapter's board for the past 4 years. Although she was raised in a regularly relocating Air Force family, she considers Atlanta her home after 37 years, having attended Dunwoody High School, the University of Georgia, and raising her family in Roswell.

Congratulations Club of the Year!

We just returned from the District 6900 Conference where about 15 representatives from the Rotary Club of Dunwoody enjoyed a weekend at Lake Lanier learning, growing, and connecting with each other, Rotarians from other clubs, and guests from around the country and the world. And I'm pleased to say we were honored and delighted to receive the Club of the Year award in our size category (Category III). Thanks to all of you who helped make this happen.

We were recognized with additional awards:

  • The Jake Cheatham Memorial Award for highest per-capita giving to the GRSP Foundation
  • The Award for highest per capita giving to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund
  • The Award for Best Project Devoted to Service Heros for our club's work in support of the USO
  • The Award for Best Work in increasing and promoting the club's Public Image

From the Golf Course
Almost Time to Tee Up! Still Time to Help!

With just 26 days to go until golfers tee up for our FORE! the Memories Golf Tournament on May 18, we can still use your help in some key areas:

  • Get your golfers signed up with Rick Woods - he needs their names, golf handicaps, phone number and email addresses. You can send by email to sdoowrm@gmail.com
  • You can still be a sponsor - the Contributing, Donating & Participating categories as a simple way to support the event. We can never have too many sponsors - you can recruit organizations to be sponsors and/or sign up yourself on the website
  • Be a volunteer the day of the tournament - Alison Norris is coordinating volunteers for the day and can answer your questions/sign you up!
  • Donate items for the after-golf auction - Neal MacDonald would be happy to hear from you about an auction item.
  • Visit the website - Everything is up to date and looks great thanks to Hoshi! Point potential sponsors and golfers there! www.rcdgolftournament.com.
  • Pray for good weather - it never hurts to start early!

Service Opportunity
Volunteer for Special Olympics - May 23

Just like last year, we are a sponsor of the Summer Olympics event. On May 23, we have the opportunity to volunteer - supervising the swimming competition. If you were there last year, you’ll know how exciting and rewarding this is

Thomas Ritch, Chief Development Officer, Special Olympics, will be at our May 8 meeting to tell us more about the event and he’ll have Evan Hodge, one of the actual participants, with him. Rick Woods will have more information over the next few days about how to sign up for the event but please put it on your calendar to attend.
